Momlets Plus One Donations

On May 8, an Arboretum staffer, a bird walk leader, and several Arboretum members will participate in the 38th Annual World Series of Birding (WSB). Sponsored by New Jersey Audubon, the WSB is the country's largest and most prestigious birding competition, and one that raises funding for critically needed conservation priorities. The Adkins team hopes to raise money for the Arboretum's nature education programs for children, overseen by Assistant Director Jenny Houghton.

Team members are Kellen McCluskey, Jim Wilson, Rhonda Tuell, Holly Ireland, and Melissa Clark. They will participate under the moniker The Momlets Plus One: Momlets because they are all marvelous moms, and Plus One because Jim is the odd man out. The goal of the competition is for teams to locate and identify as
many different species of birds as possible from midnight to midnight on May 8. The Adkins team will bird extensively at the Arboretum and at other locations on the Eastern Shore.

The Momlets Plus One ask that you consider supporting their team by making a donation for the Arboretum's nature education programs. Add a donation to your cart above, or contact Kellen McCluskey to discuss making a pledge per species identified. Last year's team identified 112 species of birds! The team is shooting for 100 species this year. Please consider making a donation to this most worthy cause. Thank you!
