As Master Naturalists, we have endless opportunities for our audiences to gain a better understanding of the environment around them and the chance to inspire them to make environmentally responsible decisions. However, our instructional choices can dictate how effective a learning experience is for our audience.

Join Liz Wist and Chandler Joiner of Maryland Coastal Bays to learn about the pillars of environmental education and explore tactics you can use to ensure those you interact with leave with a deeper understanding of the presented information. We will review different research-based science pedagogy and challenge participants to think about their own methods of teaching and learning. This is an active experience for all attendees and will include outdoor activities crafted for meaning-making and transformational learning. Advance registration is required for planning purposes.

This program fulfills advanced training requirements for Maryland Master Naturalists and is funded in part by the Maryland Coastal Bays Program.
