'The Blues' is a clumping, perennial warm season grass. It stands out from the straight species with its blueish green foliage and excellent fall color. It grows 2 to 4 feet tall, flowers in August and produces fluffy seed clusters which remain into winter. Plant in dry to moist soils in full sun.
Little bluestem is a species of North American prairie grass natie to most of the contiguous U.S. (except California, Nevada, and Oregon). It is most common in the Midwestern prairies. Larval host to several skipper species.
