Plein Air Adkins is a one-day plein air paint-out, exhibit, contest, and sale at Adkins Arboretum. Artists paint in the morning and exhibit and sell their work in the afternoon. This year's judge, Beth Bathe, has participated in high-profile competitions from Maine to Washington State.
The event is open to any artist who wishes to participate.
Observers can explore the Arboretum's forest, meadows, and wetland while watching plein air artists paint original work. In the afternoon, the paintings will be available for purchase. This is a wonderful opportunity to purchase art on the same day it was created!
Live music will be provided by Fine Times during the exhibit and sale. Refreshments will be on sale from Craft Bakery & Night Kitchen Coffee, Ten Eyck Brewery, and Blue Monkey Street Tacos beginning at 11 am.
The event is free for observers, but we still ask that you register in advance for planning purposes.
Plein Air Adkins is generously sponsored in part by the Maryland State Arts Council and the Caroline County Council of Art.
