Leucothoe axillaris 'ReJoyce' (coastal doghobble)

This coastal leucothoe is a unique woodland shrub that does well with moist, well-drained soils. It has a compact, fountain-like habit with reddish leaves in the spring and fall. Plant this in a protected spot with dappled or cool sun (avoid hot afternoon sun). Its bell-shaped white to pink flowers attract bees and other pollinators. 'ReJoyce' grows to 2 to 4 feet tall and 4 to 5 feet wide.
