Letterboxing is a wondrous and secret hobby from the 1840s that combines stamp carving with treasure hunts worldwide. Follow clues to find tiny works of art hidden in parks, forests, shops, and historic buildings. Learn how to make your signature stamp and logbook to collect beautiful ink imprints and leave prepared to set out on the trail! All materials will be provided.

Meet Your Instructor

Darran Tilghman is the Director of Community Engagement at ShoreRivers, the Riverkeepers of Maryland's Eastern Shore. She has been letterboxing since 2020 and loves how this clandestine hobby connects with some of her favorite pastimes: being outdoors, spending time with family and friends, and making tiny, useful art.
