Kosteletzkya virginica (seashore mallow)
seashore mallow (1 gallon)
Seashore mallow is a wetland plant that attracts butterflies to its large, soft pink hibiscus-like flowers from June through September. Growing 3–4' tall and wide, seashore mallow likes full sun and medium to wet soil. Each flower opens for one day and then gives way to seed capsules. Short-lived, only to about 5 years, so allow seedlings to establish to keep it going.
Seashore mallow is native to the eastern seashore of North America. It is found in brackish marshes, coastal plains, and swamps.
