shrubby St. John's wort (1 gallon)
Shrubby St. John's wort is a small, deciduous shrub reaching 1-5 feet in height and spreading 1-4 feet that does best in full sun to partly shady locations with average to moist soil conditions. Once established, it will tolerate dry soils. This plant is useful for a hedge or shrub border, or may be useful for stabilizing slopes. The bright yellow flowers bloom in the summer, followed by tan seed pods in the fall. Birds enjoy this species, as well as butterflies and other types of pollinators. Plant has some toxicity, so avoid contact with the sap and do not ingest any of the plant parts. This species does not have any serious insect or disease concerns.
