Calling all creek freaks! Grab your nets, stopwatches, and pH strips to find the answers to some pressing aquatic questions. What is a riparian buffer zone? How are aquatic plants and animals adapted to their watery environment? What is the relationship between precipitation, runoff, and aquatic habitats? Homeschoolers will explore the fascinating world of water through field studies of the Arboretum’s wetland and stream. Please come prepared with a folder, paper, a writing utensil, comfortable walking shoes, and clothes that may get a little dirty. Rain boots or other waterproof shoes are a good idea! This program is based in part on the Izaac Walton’s League Creek Freaks curriculum.
Advance registration is required for planning purposes. Classes will largely be held outdoors; students should dress for the weather.
**Note: You will be asked upon checkout to create an account. This is optional and is not required to process payment.**
