Hoesy Corona: Terrestrial Caravan - May 7

Sunday, May 7, 2023
1 p.m.
Free

Baltimore-based artist Hoesy Corona will bring a work of performance art that explores climate change to the Arboretum. In dialogue with his exhibition Terrestrial Caravan, on view at the Academy Art Museum through August 31, Corona will present ruminations on climate-related displacement through the archetype of the traveler and highlight our connection to nature and the fragility of our settled experience. Inhabiting Corona's wearable sculptures, titled Climate Ponchos, performers will move in a procession on the Arboretum grounds while activating and interacting with the landscape. Rain date: Sunday, May 14, 1–3 p.m.

See the artist's rendering of the performance.
