Aster divaricatus (Eurybia divaricata) 'Eastern Star' (white wood aster)

white wood aster (1 quart)

Currently out of stock

The 'Eastern Star' cultivar of wood aster is known for its compact size, generous blooms and dark red stems. Grows to about 1.5' tall. Lovely naturalized in shade. Grows easily in dry soil. Makes a nice woodland groundcover. Does not come true from seed, so you may want to prevent self-seeding by cutting back stems after flowering. Deer resistant.

Found in deciduous woods and along roadsides of the Eastern US. Attracts butterflies. Host plant for caterpillars of pearl crescent and checkerspot butterflies.
