Adiantum pedatum (maidenhair fern)

maidenhair fern (1 gallon)

Northern maidenhair fern is a tough plant, tolerating cold winters and warm summers. It grows to about 1' tall in part shade to full shade in moist soil. The fronds have a bright green texture and black stems. Maidenhair fern spreads by rhizomes. Good for shaded borders, woodland gardens, and as an edging plant in shaded areas.

Maidenhair fern is native to moist forests in eastern North America. It grows in a variety of habits, but generally favors soils that are humus-rich, moist, and well-drained.
