Basic Insect Illustration – April 25, 2026

$60 for Members/$75 for Non–Members

Brush up on insect anatomy and learn tips and tricks to accurately draw a moth or butterfly with pencil and/or Micron pen.  Options for adding color will also be explored.

Some drawing experience is helpful but not necessary.

Meet Your Instructors

 This class will be co-taught by Emily Zobel from the University of Maryland Extension and Kelly Sverduk.

Botanical artist Kelly Sverduk specializes in watercolor and is passionate about making and teaching art. With a background in both art and natural sciences, she finds the field of botanical illustration to perfectly mesh her interests. Kelly holds a B.A. in studio art from Messiah College and a certificate in botanical art from the Brookside Gardens School of Botanical Art and Illustration. She lives with her family in Greenwood, DE.
