The Woodpeckers of Adkins
Wednesday, October 16
10–11:30 a.m.
Free for members, $10 for non-members
Five species of woodpeckers breed in the forests of Adkins. A sixth spends the winter and spring at Adkins and heads further north to breed. The seventh one is a rare visitor, but it is important to learn about it if it wanders into Adkins or shows up in your backyard. Birder Jim Wilson will teach you how to ID woodpeckers, what they eat, how they eat, nesting requirements, and other aspects of their life in the woods.
Youth birders interested in learning more about woodpeckers are invited to attend. Contact Jim Wilson if you have any questions at [email protected].
