Rudbeckia laciniata (cutleaf coneflower)
1 Gallon
Cutleaf coneflower is a robust sunflower-like perennial growing up to 3–4' tall in cultivation. Grow in average, medium moisture soils in full sun to part shade. Features daisy-like flowers with reflexed (drooping), yellow rays and dome-like, green center disks. Deeply-lobed, light green leaves. Long mid- to late summer bloom period. Spreads rampantly by underground stems, so give it room. May need staking. Tolerates hot and humid summers, but not drought. Good for mixed perennial borders, meadow plantings, naturalized areas.
Cutleaf coneflower is native to North America, where it is widespread in both Canada and the U.S. It is found in wet sites in flood plains, along streambanks, and in moist forests. Attracts honeybees and native bees, birds, and butterflies.
