Rhus aromatica 'Gro Low' (fragrant sumac)

This cultivar of fragrant sumac is perfect for stabilizing a bank or smothering weeds. It hugs the ground from 1–3' tall and can spread 6–10'. Beautiful Fall color. Fast, compact growth. Likes average well-drained soil in full sun. Deer tolerant. 

Fragrant sumac is found in southern Canada and nearly all of the contiguous U.S. except peninsular Florida. It grows in a range of sites including open rocky woodlands, valley bottoms, and roadsides. Attracts birds and butterflies to its red seeds and yellow flowers.
