Monarda d. 'Gardenview Scarlet' (bee balm)

bee balm (1 gallon)

‘Gardenview Scarlet’ is a Monarda cultivar that was featured in Mt Cuba Center's Monarda trial for its stunning red blooms in June. Similar in appearance to the cultivar ‘Jacob Cline,’ ‘Gardenview Scarlet remains about 36 inches high and demonstrates greater resistance to powdery mildew. With a warm oregano-like aroma, Monarda will quickly sprawl, filling in any sunny gaps in your garden.

Scarlet beebalm is native to eastern North America, where it typically occurs in bottomlands, thickets, moist woods, and along streambanks. Attracts bees, hummingbirds, and butterflies.
