Virginia sweetspire is a small flowering shrub that is native to North America. It grows in low-lying woods and wetland margins. The flowers attract pollinators, and the shrub provides cover. Sweetspire can be used for erosion control. Virginia sweetspire is on the University of Maryland Extension's list of recommended native shrubs.
