Hydrangea arborescens 'Lime Rickey' (smooth hydrangea)
smooth hydrangea (3 gal)
Considered a top performer in the Mt. Cuba Center Hydrangea trial, 'Lime Rickey' boasts beautiful blooms and does well in both sun and shade. The flowers are particularly intriguing, starting with lime green sterile flowers in early June followed by reddish-pink fertile flowers in late June. It grows to about 6 feet tall and 8 feet wide, with blooms measuring about 6.5 inches.
