Dennstaedtia punctilobula (hay-scented fern)

Hay-scented fern is very common and often grows in large colonies forming a carpet. It can be identified by its lacy light green fronds growing 12–18" tall. Grows in dry to medium soils in light shade to full shade for best performance. Hay-scented fern can be confused with New York fern, but hay-scented fern has triangular fronds, whereas New York fern fronds taper to tiny leaflets at both ends.
