Chelone lyonii 'Pink Temptation' (pink turtlehead)

1 Quart

Slightly more compact and paler pink than 'Hot Lips,' 'Pink Temptation' offers the beloved pink blooms that resemble a turtle's head. This plant has an upright, clumping habit, growing about 12-18 inches tall and 12-24 inches wide. It prefers wet soil and full sun to part shade. It also prefers some shady protection from the hot afternoon sun. A great addition to a bog or rain garden, this plant attracts butterflies and is considered deer resistant.

Pink turtlehead is native to wet woodlands in the southern Appalachian Mountains. It has escaped gardens and naturalized in other areas. Attracts bumblebees, butterflies, and other insects and hummingbirds. Blooming late in the season and for a long time, it is a good source of pollen and nectar for wildlife.
