White false indigo features white pea- like flowers in the spring. It grows 2–4 feet tall and has a spread of about 2.5'. It thrives in full sun to part shade in dry to moist soils. The flowers and seed pods are showy.

White false indigo is native to central and eastern North America. It is found in grasslands. Host plant for caterpillars of the wild indigo duskywing butterfly and the indigo stem border moth. Bumblebees pollinate the flowers.
