'Autumn Brilliance' has the attractive Spring flowers that other serviceberries have, but it also has outstanding orange to red Autumn foliage. This cultivar is typically grown as a multi-stemmed shrub or a small tree reaching up to 20' tall. It has an upright rounded habit with striking grayish to silver smooth bark. Does best in acidic, well-drained soils in partial shade to sun. Produces tasty violet to purple-colored fruit in mid-June that can be used in jams, jellies, and pies. A low-maintenance understory tree or shrub for lawns, shrub borders, woodland margins, or native plant areas.
