Join Maryland Master Naturalist and impressionist oil painter Diane DuBois Mullaly on the inspiring grounds of Adkins Arboretum for this series of three basic plein air classes. Each class focuses on a unique portion of the landscape and how to paint 1) skies, clouds and meadows, 2) wetlands, grasses and reflections, and 3) trees, paths and understory. To begin each class, the instructor will give a quick talk and demo with handouts, then visit easels with helpful tips as you paint. A focus on composition, light, color and atmosphere will be woven throughout this entire series of three classes. For artists in all mediums. A materials list will be emailed to you upon registration.
Advance registration is required for all programs and events. This helps with planning and lets us contact you if programs are canceled. Many of our instructors are from out of town, and programs with insufficient enrollment may be canceled several days in advance.
