Great Backyard Bird Count Walk with Jim Wilson - February 15

Saturday, February 15, 8 a.m. Meet at the Visitor's Center. The walk is free.

The Great Backyard Bird Count (GBBC) is an online citizen science project that collects data on wild birds and displays the collected data in real time. Last year, more than 160,000 participants collected data on 6,699 bird species.

Join Jim Wilson on a walk to identify the different bird species at the Arboretum, count the number of each species, and enter the data. Several expert birders will be on hand to help, and binoculars will be available for those who need them.

Jim enjoys birds and, more importantly, enjoys teaching about them.  He has taught about birds and nature for twelve years at Kennard Elementary School and has given numerous talks about birds and monarch butterflies at Queen Anne's County Free Library. He also volunteers at the Arboretum, leading bird walks and teaching school groups.

Contact Jim with questions at 410-739-2091 or [email protected]
