Leaf Drawing on Mylar – October 30

Botanical illustration depicts the botanical features of the subject while expressing its unique character through composition, design, and interpretation. This workshop led by Anna Harding explores the wonder of colors and the fragility of the fall leaf to produce a study of a single leaf. Prerequisite: Color Pencil I.

Anna Harding has been creating art since she was a child. She has moved through various mediums, including 20 years as a ceramic artist and the past 10 years as a botanical artist working in graphite and colored pencil. She currently teaches botanical art classes at the Arboretum and is preparing for a show in 2022 featuring threatened, endangered, or extinct species in the Chesapeake region. She maintains a studio at her kitchen table.Registration is limited to 8 students so ensure physical distancing and so that each artist receives quality individual coaching.
