Thursdays, September 12–November 14, 2019 1–2:30 p.m.
What makes a mammal a mammal? Can you name the 102 mammal species that call Maryland home? Why are there no black bears on the Eastern Shore? All of these questions and more will be answered as we hit the trails in search of clues about Maryland's mysterious mammals.
Track and scat surveys, skull studies, and journaling will be part of the learning experience, with highlights on some of the region's most fascinating species: beavers, deer, bats, groundhogs, coyotes, and foxes.
This program is for students ages 9–12. Outside time will be a part of every class; dress for the weather!
