Sunday, August 4, 2019      1–2:30 p.m.

One of the key principles in creating a Bay-Friendly garden is to increase the variety of plants. Join Barbara W. Ellis, author of Chesapeake Gardening & Landscaping, to learn about the value of diversity in the garden and the fun of cramming as many plants as possible into every corner of your yard.

Ellis will also discuss a range of options—from simple steps to ambitious projects—that gardeners and homeowners can take to create beautiful, more sustainable gardens and landscapes that are attractive and healthy for humans, wildlife, pets, and the environment as a whole—including the Chesapeake Bay and all its tributaries.

Other programs in the series include Designing with Natives (April 7), Native Plants: Planting and Care (May 5), Native Alternatives to Invasives (June 9), and Garden Hardscaping (November 3). Click on the program names for information and to register.
