Botanical Drawing I – September 17–October 15

Fridays, September 17 & 24, October 1 & 15, 2021, 10 a.m.–1 p.m.

Led by Kelly Sverduk, this introduction to botanical drawing will focus on the development of skills and techniques necessary to capture the essence of flowers, fruits, pods, and leaves. Form, scale, depth, and perspective will be emphasized. Each student will produce a detailed botanical study in pencil.

Please note that this class will be held in the pavilion. A golf cart will be available to carry participants and supplies to and from the Visitor's Center.

Botanical artist Kelly Sverduk specializes in watercolor and is passionate about making and teaching art. With a background in both art and natural sciences, she finds the field of botanical illustration to perfectly mesh her interests. Kelly holds a B.A. in studio art from Messiah College and a certificate in botanical art from the Brookside Gardens School of Botanical Art and Illustration. She lives with her family in Greenwood, DE.

Registration is limited to 8 students so ensure physical distancing and so that each artist receives quality individual
 coaching.
