Arctostaphylos uva-ursi 'Massachusetts' (bearberry)

bearberry (1 gal)

A low growing coastal native shrub makes a great groundcover, especially for slopes with its fine leaves and arching branches. Bearberry may reach 12" tall and spread 3-6' in diameter. It does best in full sun to part shade in dry to average soils though a slow grower. White flowers in May give way to red berries in late summer. Good for rock gardens, hillsides, and exposed sandy soils.  Do not overwater this plant, it tends to not need water as often as other plants.
